Fly Fishing-Information That Will Point You In The Right Direction   by Moira Kyra

Don’t be fooled by how complex mastering the basics of Fly Fishing appears to be. Simply apply a little common sense to what you do and you will be OK. If you pretend that you’re the fish, and try to see life through their eyes, that will help a lot. Here you will find some systems that have been shown to be successful and you can apply them to sharpen your Fly Fishing craft.

Learning the good fishing spots is important if you want to catch fish, because you need to know where they are at, and what they feed on. Fishermen are always building up their fish stories, so you shouldn’t have any problems getting people to talk to you. Talk to the local people especially an owner or sales person at any local store that sells fishing supplies. It will help if you buy something, but you should need some fishing supplies, anyways. Secret fishing locations quite often aren’t revealed to anybody, let alone a stranger, so you might have to be content with the bits and pieces that you can get. This may include some good locations, and the best lures to use. In this manner you can learn a lot just by buying equipment in the store and asking relevant questions. The best course of action for you to take if you are determined to learn how to fly fish the right way, is to enroll is a Fly Fishing school or find a way
to take lessons from someone. These schools are quite numerous, and they can teach you skills that would otherwise take you years to gain – if you ever gained them at all on your own. You can learn from books and other written material, watch videos and learn by trial and error, but learning from experienced pros is a much more efficient method. Fly Fishing schools generally have small class sizes and will take you out and show you everything you need to do to become proficient at fly fishing. If you don’t have a school nearby, you could ask around for someone who could coach you – either free or for a fee. This way you can get off to a good start by learning the fundamental skills properly.

There are places you can go fly fishing in saltwater, just because most people think of fly fishing, being in a stream, catching trout. You will need a rod that is at least 9 feet long, because you will definitely need heavier gear to bring in the larger fish. You should also purchase reels that are durable enough to be resistant to corrosion from saltwater. In order to be prepared for a successful fishing trip, you will want to research the areas you are going, to find out the fish normally feed on, because you will then know what lures or flies to be using. If you want to go fly fishing in saltwater, Florida is popular, but a lot of the US borders on saltwater.

There is a lot of available information on the topic of fly fishing, and you will realize that, once you become interested in it. Of course, the internet makes it easier to find such information, but you probably also have many resources close to where you live. Don’t expect to become an expert overnight, but make is a goal to increase your knowledge about fly fishing until others start to ask you for advice.

Fishing Flies Lures

Fishing the Mississippi River and the Yellow River In NE Iowa   by Howard Bright

Fishing
Fly Fishing
Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Smallmouth Bass can rip the line off your reel and get your heart thumping. You’ll settle into the quiet serenity of the Yellow River as you float or wade casting your fly into a pool or eddy below the white water rapids. Surrounded by overhanging Willows and towering Cottonwoods on a long stretch of quiet water your mind is at peace. Suddenly on your right, a bank of cool air floats toward you and a dark shady vertical limestone bluff towers above and descends into the river. The vertical rock wall is like a fairy tail scene come true with ferns, mosses, lichens and wildflowers covering the wet dripping rock. You stop and cast a dry fly along the edge of the deep clear water cut and watch as a huge Brown Trout inhales the tiny fly.

Mississippi River Fishing
Nearby the Mississippi awaits you and lures you into the heart of some of the best backwater fishing in America nestled between the steep bluffs of Marquette, Iowa and Prairie duChien, Wisconsin. After launching your fishing boat, slowly and quietly you maneuver into a backwater lake just to the left of the fog laden side channel. The entrance of the lake is narrow and almost unnoticeable. A gentle soft current flows through this secluded opening. A large cottonwood log stands sentry at the entry point of this large backwater lake covered with blooming water lilies and lotus. The morning is still andas the mist rises and filters the sunlightinto a beautiful glow, a Great Blue Heron stands on one leg perched and ready to get its breakfast. The air is fresh as it fills your lungs. Coming to a dead stop, thankfulness fills your soul as you experience this creation of nature. Few people will ever have this experience and tears come to your eyes as you stare in awe at the glorious scene looming in the still morning and your heart is filled with joy. Your first cast with your floating frog lands him on top of a water lily. Just as you twitch it off the lily pad and as it hits the water, there is a sudden explosion of a 4-pound Largemouth Bass that has been fooled by your “look alike frog”.
Around noon your family meets you back at the launching ramp. After a picnic lunch, every one is ready to meet the afternoon. After a short ride in the boat you and your family find yourselves anchored and sitting idly under the shade of an Old Willow tree in the maze of backwater sloughs. A cast into the deep shade offered by the willow sends the bobber and bait to a good-looking niche. The bobber makes a little bounce and disappears as a big Bluegill struggles to tangle the line in a maze of logs and roots but to no avail as your son smiles and laughs. He adds this little scrapper to the live well and makes another cast to the same honey hole.
Later in the day in the maze of backwater sloughs, everyone looses track of time and where they are but who cares because your family is having fun. What a life this is!
As the sun sets and the sky turns a pink red, your memories of today’s fishing experience will be fond andnever forgotten. When the darkness of the cricket filled night engulfs you and the fog and mist fill the Mississippi valley, your dreams about tomorrow will fill your sleep as vivid images paint pictures of your destiny tomorrow, a Hugh Northern Pike just hooked over a clear water weed-bed. Yes, what a life and what a trip!
The Mississippi River and the Yellow River are within 15 minuets of The Natural Gait. http://www.thenaturalgait.com where many fishermen stay. There are modern beautiful cabins, a lodge, and other accomidations something for the whole family.

Fishing Reels Freshwater

Saltwater Fishing Gear   by Saranya Devi G

Saltwater fishing is entirely different from that of fresh water fishing, except that both are fishing. This is because of the area that any ocean fishing covers, ocean is vast with huge number of fishes in large-sizes. When you consider freshwater, only freshwater fishing gear, which is suitable for angling in the freshwater, is used. If you use the same freshwater fishing gear, it is inappropriate. This fresh water fishing gear will not be able to cover wide and deep distances, also they might be suitable for the fishes grown in freshwater pool, but it would not be suitable for those huge fishes in sea.

Saltwater Fishing Gear

To start your saltwater fishing one must upgrade the equipments initially. The first step would be to get a saltwater fishing gear. As we have already mentioned saltwater fishing and freshwater fishing differs in the size of the fishes and in the area of fishing. To cover a wide area and to get big saltwater fishes one has to enhance the fishing equipments. When you consider saltwater fishing gear, there are two main things that a sport angler should consider,

Saltwater fishing gear rod: Generally, rods might be smaller in length for freshwater fishing, but this saltwater fishing gear rod should be at least nine feet in length so that they reach good depth of the ocean.

Saltwater fishing reel: Next, we should consider a fishing reel that is specially designed for saltwater. Saltwater is generally corrosive, to withstand corrosion these reels must be built with special materials so that they stay well for long.

Coastal fishing might also involve offshore fishing, which means fishing miles away from the coastline. In that situation, one has to tackle the angling and then get successful with the offshore fishing. Fishing gear fishing would be successful most of the times of you are able to maintain the best angling.

Fly Fishing – An all comprehensive way to do angling   by Sammy Quebby

The traditional method of catching salmon and trout is known as Fly Fishing. It is presently employed to trap fishes like pan fish, bass crap, and grayling. Other varieties of marine species like snook, bonefish and redfish are also caught by using this method of fishing. Numerous anglers are taking recourse to this method. This method can be tried in both salty and fresh waters as it is applicable in both waters. The two categories of fresh water fishing are the warm and cool ones. The techniques applied in fresh water are different for rivers, lakes and streams.

It is quite interesting to know about how Fly Fishing is done. There is a fly line where artificial flies are cast with the help of a fly rod, this helps to catch fish. Nowadays the Fly Lines are coated with plastic and are quite heavy and help to send the fly to the fish which is the target. Artificial flies come in a whole lot of sizes and colors. They are made by tying fur, feathers, hair and other natural and synthetic materials. They are tied onto a hook which has a thread. In earlier times natural materials were used to tie the flies but now synthetic materials have become immensely popular.

It is important to note that when anglers aim for a typical species then the flies are tied in patterns that are similar to local aquatic insects and local terrestrials. Fly Fishing is done extensively in Great Britain, Japan, North America. In the U.S artificial lures were first utilized by the fly anglers for bass fishing. Their popularity charts are still high. It reached an all time high in the 1920′s in places like Maine, Vermont and Wisconsin. The popularity of deep sea fishing had also increased by then. Brad Pitt a famous actor in Hollywood popularized this technique through his movie- A River Runs Through.

Of late silk has outnumbered horse hair in the making of fishing lines. New woods are used in the construction of fly rods. The silk is used to cast flies. The difficulties in the usage of Fly Lines have been overcome and the new ones are convenient. You can order them through the internet. Visit the site http://www.salmonflies.ca to buy new equipments of fly fishing. You will benefit by buying things of your choice from the home environment.
