Another fly fishing basic one need to learn is how to cast the line. Learning casting involves getting acquainted with the backcast, and the forward cast. The backcast has three sections that include moving the rod slowly upwards for applying tension to the line, accelerating the line and stopping abruptly and, finally allowing the rod to drift back slowly in order to prepare for the forward cast. The forward cast, on the other hand, has two sections that are to accelerate the rod to an abrupt stop and following through to the finish.
