There are two general types of kayaks. When I say this, I mean that the types you sit on, and the kind you sit in. They both maneuver well in the water, but you need to figure out which would suit you best.

Kayaks and Scuba Diving

Let’s talk about the type you sit on. The sit on kayaks are generally used for fishing, and carrying extra equipment. These types of kayaks have tie downs and spaces to carry any extra you need to bring along.

If you are a scuba diver or snorkeler, the sit on type will suit you well. You can carry your scuba equipment and use it as a base while you are underwater. Placing divers’ flags will alert other people that you are diving. You can also use it as a resting platform between dives. Check with your local dive shops to make sure you are following the regulations for diving from a kayak. Since scuba diving requires a friend, then you will want the two-seater.

Kayaks and Sightseeing

If you like to explore and camp along rivers or lakes, then a sit upon kayak is your ticket. The tie down straps and cords will help you carry your camping gear.

If you haven’t ever taken a trip along a river, you are really missing out on a wonderful experience. Kayaks are excellent for maneuvering and are easier to learn how to paddle. They balance well and catch less wind than a canoe. While there is nothing wrong with a canoe, kayaking is easier to learn to control, especially in the wind and in rough water.

Choosing between a sit in or a sit on greatly depends on what you wish to do. If you are in it for the adventure, then go for the sit it. If you want to enjoy the lake and scenery, then go for the sit on.

Bariloche is one of the most beautiful zones in Argentinean Patagonia. This wonderful town was named by the Indian word vuriloche, meaning people from the other side of the mountain and by Carlos, in honor to the famous german settler Carlos Wiederhold, who was the owner an important store in the city in the beginning of XX century.

This wonderful place is located in Rio Negro province and inside the National Park Nahuel Huapi at the shores of the lake with the same name.

Bariloche is known as the capital of tourism in Argentina because of its amazing landscapes, which mixes the adventure of the mountains with the calm of the pure nature. In the coast of the city, visitors can practice nautical activities like rafting, kayak and sailing; and in the hills of the zone, do outdoor activities like trekking, hiking, climbing, paragliding, among many others.

Catfishing Rigs – Easy Steps To Setup Tackle Box For Drift Fishing   by George Landrail

Most drift fishermen I know use the Carolina rig for catfishing. Carolina rig is also known as a slip sinker rig. It is so named because of the use of a no roll slip sinker weight that is attached to the line. It is a kind of deep fishing rig which is set up so that the hook is well below the water surface.

To set up this rig, pull out approximately 5 feet of the line from your bait caster or bait runner reels and cut out a 12 to 24 inch long part of the line to form a leader line. Use one of its ends to tie up a Kahle hook of size 6/0 to 10/0 with a Snell knot. Tie the other end of the leader line to a barrel swivel using a Clinch knot or a Palomar knot.

I prefer tying a clinch knot here. Slip in a 5 oz no-roll weight in the main line and tie it to barrel swivel using a Palomar knot. I prefer a Palomar knot to any other kind of knot because it doesn
